Active Release Technique® (ART®) is a patented soft tissue technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia (connective tissue), and nerves. A multitude of musculoskeletal conditions can benefit from ART. These conditions all have one important similarity: they are frequently the result of overused muscles, causing muscle spasm, scar tissue and eventual loss of function within a region of the body.
The goal of ART® is to restore optimal texture, motion, and function of the problem area and release any entrapped nerves or blood vessels. This is accomplished by removing adhesions or scar tissue in the area through protocols that involve specific massage and stretching of the involved tissue. Adhesions can occur as a result of acute injury, repetitive motion, and constant pressure or tension. ART® eliminates the pain and dysfunction associated with these adhesions and increases flexibility.

Topical Analgesics
Topical analgesics offer a safe and effective adjunct to chiropractic treatment. The pain relief they provide can give the patient a good reason to maintain care until the problem is resolved. They can prevent the often harmful side-effects of oral analgesics.
